Senior Core Java Developer

Job Description

NYC and North Carolina based Fixed Income E-trading group has several opennings for senior software developers for the front-office team that is responsible for building/enhancing Fixed Income electronic/algo trading system (corporate bonds, credit derivatives, etc.). We’re looking for candidates with extensive JAVA server-side experience, ‘CORE Java”.

The candidates should have experience with the entire SDLC cycle. Use of Design Patterns is a plus. Candidates must have the ability to interact with all functional roles on the team, contribute solutions and ideas, and have solid written and verbal communication skills, be a self-starter, highly motivated and a solid team player, though also capable of working independently.

Required Skills:

• Core Java – Ability to write clean simple and efficient code
• Server side development, solid multithreading knowledge, good understanding of the JVM & garbage collectors
• Experience/knowledge in Java 8 Lambdas preferred
• Middleware messaging, preferably with experience on a JMS platform (e.g. EMS, ActiveMQ) and/or Java NIO preferred
• Experience developing large scale enterprise applications in a SOA architecture
• Good OO design knowledge
• Knowledge of Design Patterns
• Experience with Fixed Income applications (preferably credit related)
• Knowledge of bonds pricing/calculations preferred
• Advance degree in computations science a plus
