Fortune 100 company in NYC has an immediate need for a Financial Planning/Budgeting Consultant. This resource will be responsible for Financial Planning and Analysis for the IT Risk Management Team. Responsibilities include procurement, IT Risk project reporting, IT Risk budget planning and forecasting, and invoicing workflow. This individual will be the primary liaison to the IT Risk Department’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the division’s Budget Coordinator on this information. The Budget Consultant is accountable for translating the data into actionable recommendations to support effective business decision making by Senior Management.
Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and execute departmental budget reporting and analysis requirements on a monthly/quarterly basis for Senior Management
- Correlate and maintain up-to-date information on shifting project priorities from various sources to help inform business decisions on budget funding/allocation for the department
- Drive and execute annual budget forecasting/planning cycle for the department to ensure appropriate funding is procured
- Prepare required executive briefing materials (e.g., memos, PowerPoint presentations, business case summaries, etc.) for procurement and resource acquisition processes
- Oversee administration procurement and resource acquisition workflow to ensure departmental requests are moving forward to meet deadlines
- Manage and execute ad-hoc data requests for departmental programs from business partners
- Support departmental project status reports for senior management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance/Business/Economics or related field
- 3-5 years of experience
- Understanding of accounting/finance concepts with a strong aptitude for financial analysis & reporting
- Must have strong MS Office Suite, primarily Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn related programs
- Strong verbal/written communication skills; can convey complex messages to various audiences to influence and drive business decisions
- Must be well-organized with strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate with business partners
